We invite you on a Gathering Exploration trip that will offer an unparalleled, up-close view into the high-tension, high-stakes drama of immigration.

From January 12 to 17, 2025, we will cross the border from America to Mexico to Honduras, tracing the reverse journey of millions of migrants. We will meet and interact with an incredible breadth of people whose paths intersect at the border, from American law enforcement agents who patrol the Chihuahuan Desert near El Paso, to the Honduran church leaders trying to create a hopeful future in rural towns.

Three days after we return, the federal government is expected to begin mass deportations of unauthorized immigrants after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. No matter our theology or political affiliation, the border crisis and the looming policy change will upend the lives of countless families. Coming or going, whether fleeing from violence or seeking opportunity, the migrants who cross the border face incredible physical dangers.

Let’s look beyond the partisan headlines to consider how a Christian philanthropist and investor might address the contentious issues at hand. With the Scriptures as our touchstone, we can discover together a variety of solutions inspired by Biblical principles that also appeal to our respective policy and political viewpoints. How can we safeguard our country and uphold the rule of law while practicing the compassion of Christ and loving our neighbors who are all made in the image of God?

We will listen for God’s prompts for how to deploy our resources to the challenge of immigration.

Criteria to join our community events

  • Follow Jesus as Lord and Savior.
  • Give at least $200,000 a year to Christian causes. Though the number isn't a rigid threshold, it represents a proxy for the types of people who are asking and wrestling with the same questions around wise stewardship, giving well, avoiding pitfalls, raising the next generation, allocating resources, defining a family legacy, etc. People come to The Gathering to pursue relationships with peers who are exploring similar issues with a measure of humility, vulnerability, and trust.
