Snapshots from the Conference
- Qualifications to Attend
Our community of givers is composed of individuals and families who make charitable grants and contributions of more than $200,000 a year to Christian causes, or hold a reasonable expectation of reaching that level in the future. The number is a proxy for an emerging set of questions and opportunities for givers in this territory. And we hold this criteria so everyone arrives with a shared understanding and on the same footing. How to make a lasting, fruitful impact with the range, depth, and complexity of tools and resources at your disposal? How to navigate and mitigate the inevitable pitfalls? Where to find a community of peers who understand your joys and your struggles? How to thrive in singlehood or shepherd a family blessed with financial wealth? We foster friendships among givers in pursuit of Biblical wisdom and love of neighbor.
- New Friends
We hope you enjoy this community and conference so much that you can’t help telling your friends to come, too. We welcome your gift of friendship, and would be delighted to speak with anyone you recommend to us. We would reach out to hear their story and see how our community might serve them. You can share a name and the best way to reach them in the registration form, or contact Josh directly.
- Cancellation Policy
We will refund 100% of registration fees from now through July 31, net of transaction costs outside our control. Starting August 1, we will not be refunding fees because of the expenses we incur to produce the event. However, we can provide you a letter acknowledging the amount as a donation. We make exceptions for medical emergencies. Thank you for helping us plan prudently.

GenNext
We realized years ago that our annual conference had grown into a three-generation event, and we responded to the needs of our growing families by providing an outrageously fun experience while weaving in stories and activities aimed at stirring a child’s heart for faith and generosity. Our hope is two-fold: for friendships that are forged within GenNext to carry and deepen year after year of participation, and for the virtues and Scriptures that are modeled at GenNext to reinforce the lessons already taught at home.
In past years, students have gone kayaking and snorkeling, taken cooking classes, visited a rodeo and aquarium, and worked in teams to problem-solve their way out of “escape rooms.” They have also prepared and hosted a birthday party for children living in a homeless shelter. We take care to provide age-appropriate activities. Counselors share their personal testimonies and teach from a Bible study. Our older students will attend a few of The Gathering’s main sessions. We also invite some of our speakers to address the youth on various topics as well.

FAQs
Anyone who attends the conference, even for a shorter amount of time, must be registered for the event. The event is invite-only and open to philanthropists who meet our giving criteria.
No. The Gathering is a community of friends -- a place to learn, share, and grow without being accosted for funding. This unique environment is intentionally protected by our shared core value of trust. We encourage the enthusiastic exchange of opposing ideas, the joyful celebration of successful giving and meaningful impact, and the painful conversations about hard lessons learned. However, if you feel cornered by an aggressive sales pitch from anyone at our event, whether a participant or a speaker, don’t hesitate to let us know. Your feedback will be kept confidential.
We will close registration on Thursday, September 11, in order to make final preparations for the conference.
We will refund 90% of registration fees from now through August 1. We retain 10% of the fee to cover our administrative costs. After August 1, we will no longer be able to issue a refund due to the expenses we incur to produce the event. However, we can provide you a letter acknowledging the amount as a donation. We make exceptions for medical emergencies. Thank you for helping us plan prudently.
The attire is resort casual. No need for men to pack a tie – although you will see a few ties and blue blazers at dinner in the evenings. The ballroom and classroom temperatures tend to be quite cold at most hotels, so definitely pack a cardigan, shawl, or jacket. However, we will have some outdoor receptions and dinners, so also be prepared for warmer temperatures on the Florida coast. We cover three generations (from babies to grandparents) in The Gathering, so whatever you feel comfortable wearing is great with us.
Yes we do! For over a decade, we have hosted a youth program at The Gathering for children 3 years old through 12th grade, called GenNext. We firmly believe that virtue and philanthropy can be modeled, taught, and celebrated -- even among our youngest participants. It is our greatest hope that your young ones will yearn to return year after year, building friendships that last and learning values that honor your family legacy. We combine the best of rollicking fun and spiritual inquiry, led by a select group of counselors who joyfully serve for the entire weekend. The GenNext schedule perfectly complements the main Gathering schedule, allowing adults to attend their selected sessions while also giving families some free time together.
The drive from Palm Beach International Airport to The Breakers is about 15 minutes.
Yes, we have an app just for our event! The app will be released about one week before the conference and will be your hub for the detailed schedule, participant directory, speaker bios, session descriptions, and more helpful tools for the onsite experience.
Each year, about one-quarter of our participants are new to The Gathering, which is exciting for the growth of the community. Before the Opening Night dinner, our Board of Directors hosts a “Newcomers Reception” so you can meet our leaders and connect with others. We also love making introductions -- and will happily do so before you arrive for the conference. Whether you’re coming alone or with a large family, we want you to feel at home with friendly faces in the crowd. If you would like to bring a new friend or have us reach out for a conversation, please let us know!
Registration fees cover all programming for The Gathering conference. All meals are included. Attendees are responsible for their own lodging and travel to/from the airport.
